How to Get Perfect Swooping Side Bangs

Hiya everyone! I absolutely love swooping side bangs, they're super cute and look good on most people. The only problem? Actually making them "swooping" and stay in place. No need to worry! There is a super easy way to make your side bangs look perfect and swooping with these 3 simple steps:
  1. Brush or comb bangs straight down and then over. Repeat this motion several times to really make your bangs stay in place.
  2. Use a styling mold or gel to push bangs the same direction you brushed them in. You might need to repeat step 1 if there is product clumping in your bangs.
  3. Lightly spray hair spray to make sure your bangs will stay in place throughout your day.
How easy is that? I hope you guys benefit from this post because this really helps me make my bangs go and stay where I want them to. Leave a comment with some post suggestions!

MTV Movie Awards Fashion

Hi everyone, I don't know about you all, but I watched the MTV Movie Awards last night and thought they were awesome! Rebel Wilson is hilarious and she was a great host. What really interested me was all of the stars and their outfits on the red carpet. While I was watching, I got inspired to make this post and share my opinions on the fashion at the MTV Movie Awards! I split up the star's that stood out the most to me and created best dressed and worst dressed colleges.

Christina Ricci: I absolutely love her dress! It's so fancy yet simple. The little jewels going down the side take care of the jewelry situation and it looks so pretty!
Victoria Justice: Victoria looks amazing. Her dress is really cute and I want to steal it so bad. I love the belt and how her purse and shoes match it. The yellow and white really stand out and the black accessories look awesome with it.
Kat Graham: I was actually surprised by how much I liked Kat's dress! I personally think it's a little too open, but it looks fantastic on her. The open skirt shows off her long legs and killer heels. Her radiant smile tops the whole look off and she looks fierce.
Greer Grammer: This color combo looks amazing! The bright blue dress with pink heels and clutch. I think the dress looks awesome on Greer's body type but wouldn't work on everyone.
Emma Stone: I debated with myself for quite awhile about this dress. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but I finally decided I do. The black and white looks great on Emma and I actually really like the top part. It's so unique yet not crazy weird. The only thing I would change are her heels. I think a pair of red pumps would look awesome with her makeup!
Kristin Stewart: Kristin looks awesome! Her dress is so pretty, the silver with pops of yellow and purple looks so good on her. The patterns are a little strange but I actually really like them!

Emma Watson: I am a huge huge fan of Harry Potter and Emma Watson, but what is going on with her dress!? I thought it looked like a swim suit and I don't understand the whole two pattern thing. Her dress is purple but has a blue skirt thing? And blue pocket things? I don't get it.
Lucy Hale: Lucy's dress is very odd in my opinion. For some reason it reminds me of the Little Mermaid, I have no idea why! It looks cheap to me and just unflattering.
Julianne Hough: Now, this dress could be really cute. I think the whole open stomach area completely throws it off! Other than that, I love the pattern of her dress and her shoes are awesome.
Nikki Reed: This dress does absolutely nothing for Nikki! It goes straight down on her and is just too stiff. Which is really weird considering it's a gold dress, you would expect it to be more exciting.
Nikki Deloach: I don't even know what to say about this dress. It looks like it has several different patterns that all remind me of table cloths or the 70's. Or both.
Shailene Woodley: Personally, I am not a fan of the suit look. I am also not a fan of the low v-cut, no bra look. I don't think it looks good on anyone and it's too revealing for my taste.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and the MTV Movie Awards! Fashion on the red carpet always interests me and I love reading people's opinions on them. What did you think about the fashion at the MTV Movie Awards? Tell me in the comments!

Tips for Straightening Hair

Hi guys! Straightening your hair is a pretty simple style that lots of girls do. There isn't really a special technique or anything, but there are still some things you should keep in mind when your straighten your hair. Check out these tips:
  • Split your hair into sections! This will really make a difference in how straight your hair looks, especially if you have curly or wavy hair to begin with.
  • Don't forget the back of your hair. When I curl or straightening my hair, I usually forget to do the back or miss half of it. This is very noticeable!
  • Beware of frizz. Straightening your hair can cause a lot of static! To fix this, use an anti-frizz or shine spray in between layers. Spray each layer before you straighten it and then all of your hair after your completely done.
  • Brush your hair out. After each section of hair they you straighten, brush or comb it through! You will see a difference then if you just let it go. Brushing it makes it more silky and shiny.
  • Straighten in long, straight movements. When you straighten your hair, make sure your straightener is pointed down and you are pulling it all the way from top to bottom. If you hold your straightener on an angle, your hair will go in weird directions. If you don't straighten the entire strand of hair from top to bottom, your split ends will often stick out.
  • Use heat protecting spray. Do your hair a favor and use heat protecting spray! These sprays work like a shield so that your straightener will burn the product first instead of your hair.
I hope this post was helpful to you guys! Straightening your looks super cute and these tips will leave your hair looking awesome. Leave some of your tips in the comments below!

How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Hello everyone! Today's post is going to show you how to clean your makeup brushes. All you need to clean your brushes is some type of brush shampoo, there are tons of different brands out there. I use the Elf Brush Shampoo. It works really well, lasts for awhile, and only costs $3! Now, just follow the following steps and you'll have nice and clean brushes.

Step 1: Grab a brush and wet it.
Step 2: Apply a dab of brush shampoo on brush and gently lather under the water for a minute or so. Be careful not to pull out any bristles!
Step 3: Straighten out all of the bristles and squeeze out excess water.
Step 4: Lay the brush on a towel and leave it to dry over night. If you have a place near a heater or window, they will dry much quicker! Make sure your brushes are completely dry before using them again.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 for all of your brushes every 3 weeks.

I hope you guys benefit from this post! Cleaning your makeup brushes is very important. Especially if they are used on other people as well. Do you have a favorite brush shampoo? Leave a link to it in the comments!

Hair Chalking

Hi gals, one of the most popular hair trends is cool, colorful hair! I absolutely love this look and think it's fun and cute. However, I personally don't want to commit to dying my hair a cool color permanently  So, I found this awesome trend called hair chalking. All you need is the following:

  • Artist Chalk. You can get this at any arts and craft store such as Michael's or A.C. Moore.
  • Brush. I'd recommend NOT using your favorite brush (if you even have one like I do, because I'm weird like that) because you will get some of the chalk on it.
  • Water. I just did this in my bathroom and got water from the sink.
  • Curling or flat iron. This might get a little bit of color on it but it's okay because you can wipe it right off after you turn it off.
Step 1: Start with dry hair. Brush it out so you have no tangles or knots.
Step 2: Grab a section of hair that you want to start with and wet it. It doesn't have to be soaking wet, just damp enough so the color sticks.
Step 3: Pick out the color chalk you want and rub it on the strand of hair. It does not go on easily, you really have to use the chalk and color your hair in up and down strokes.
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to the rest of your hair. You can add color anywhere you want, as you can see in the picture, my friend and I did 3 strands on each side.
Step 5: After you are done adding all the colors you want, you might want to carefully use your brush to get out some of the static and tangles you'll get when you chalk your hair.
Step 6: Take your curling or flat iron and use it to lock the color in your hair. My friend straightened all of her hair, and I curled all of the pieces I chalked. You can play around and have fun styling your hair, you just need heat to make the chalk in your hair stay.
Step 7: And that's it! Pretty simple and you're hair will look awesome!

Be careful if you sleep with the chalk still in your hair, it might get all over your pillowcase. My friend and I tried this awhile ago and it looked really cool! The only downside, was that mine wouldn't wash out until about 3 or 4 washes. It was mostly stuck in my blonde highlights, so if you have light hair or highlights, you might still see some color for a few days, but it will wash out!! Will you try this trend? Tell me in the comments!!
